Becca's Big Girl Bed

This is a sad post for me. When Kathryn was a baby, My Aunt Nikki and cousins Cathy and Chrys chipped in to buy us a crib for her. It is a beautiful maple wood crib with blue stained arches at the headboard and footboard. I've always loved it and always wanted a nursery decorated around it - never got the nursery, but the bed has always been beautiful and a perfect sleepy place for all four of our beautiful babies.

Rebecca is now over three already and was still sleeping in her bed until mid-July. She's been asking for a 'big-girl bed' for awhile, we hedged and gave her a pillow like the big kids at first but even we knew it was time. She could easily climb out if she wanted too, we were just lucky she was good enough to stay in it.

The cousins used the toddler bed at Grammy and Grandpa's while they were here visiting, but we promised Becca we'd bring it home and let her have it when they went home. Above is Becca's last nap in the crib. Below is Becca pretending to sleep after we set up the new toddler bed in her room. They grow up soooo fast!!!

Sweet dreams Big Girl!!!

BIG THANKS to AUNT NIKKI and CATHY and CHRYS for the crib!!! It has been well used and loved! Thanks too to the SANVILLES for the loan of the toddler bed.

  1. Our baby really is a Big Girl and so well behaved! Like watching miracles happen in front of you as they grow up. Amazing feelings of nostalgia and pride all mixed up. Oops...there goes a tear ~ "Other" Grandma
