Sooo Lovey-Dovey (as Laina would say)

Gregg and I had the chance to spend a night at the Woodstock Inn in VT while he was working. I love Vermont! It was beautiful.
The room at the Inn was incredible! Real working fireplace, old books on the bookshelf, natural homemade lemongrass scented soaps. Breakfast room service was wonderful - Steel cut oats with real maple syrup, yogurt parfait with berries and granola, grapefruit.
See the green and white blanket on the bottom of the bed? I loved it! So pretty and it kept my toes warm all night!! I went to the hotel gift shop in the morning to buy it, but apparently, Merino Wool throws are so far out of my budget that I will never have one, oh well . . . I will however buy a photo like the one above the fireplace someday.
The best part of course was having Gregg all to myself on the lovely drive there, all night long :) and the whole ride home - just the two of us. Ahhhh, the comfort that gives me. . . While Gregg went to his meeting in the morning, I spent the day in Woodstock with his counterpart's wife Alyssa. The town is so nice, lots of shops, but more than that - just very New England. White Churches, wooden bridges, farmers markets and farms. I had lots of fun.

Twinkle toes strikes again

If you remember my last post (in May or June) about Alaina and dance, you'll think this is funny. She asked if she could please, please take dance again this year. We offered soccer and piano (she almost took piano - but we did tell her that she will eventually take piano no matter what) but she wanted to take tap. SOOO . . . we said OK.

Today on the way home from dance she said, "I haven't cried once this year for dance mom! I love it! That 15 year trophy will be no problem!" It's only been 3 weeks, 3 classes - so we'll see.

She seems happy so far though and even practices at home sometimes. After our last conversation, she asked me how old she'll be for the 15 year trophy - she's now not so sure she'll get that one :)

Gregg's one year older too . . .

Last week was Gregg's birthday too - I hope he enjoyed it. These are camping photos from a couple of years ago - he's a little camera shy so I had to look to find some - Happy mom?Root Beer - just in case anyone is wondering about the bottle - Thx Tanjua! I made him some apple pie - it's that time of year and one of his favorites.
It's been a big year for Gregg. Lots of changes with work, his calling, and our house, He's amazing. I don't know where I'd be without him. Becca got to help with the candles again - she loves that!

Happy Birthday Gregg!!!!

We love you!!!
