We have entered the youth program at church - Kat is 12 and loves it!!! At 12 the kids enter the youth program (Young Women's or Men's YW/YM for short) and their activity schedule doubles :). She's excited for girl's camp this year, and has already had lots of fun with YW activities. They've had a sleepover, service projects, and other fun stuff. Overnight she went from being a kid to fitting the label - Young Woman.

The other Young Women in our ward made posters to decorate our door with on her birthday. There are bees and beehives on it because the 12-13 year old group are called the Beehives.

Her first activity as a YW - a stake pre-TREK activity. Youth Conference this year was a re-enactment of the 'trek' west made by Mormon pioneers with handcarts. Trek was only for youth 14 and up, but everyone was included in this pre-Trek hike. It was really fun to be able to be with her. Gregg and I were invited as well because we were asked to be a Ma and Pa on Trek - more to come on that in future posts.
