The Road Trip

So the road trip - Disney World - by way of ALABAMA!

Gregg lost his job back in June and we have been looking for something since then. He's been working cutting down trees, which thanks to our storms has given him lots of work - but we both really wanted more stable, safe work for him. He got a job offer a few months back, but the job is in Alabama. Neither of us has ever been to Alabama - so we took a road trip to see what it would be like. We spent a weekend there, went to church, hiked in this beautiful park, looked at school buildings, stores, and houses and still didn't know what to do. From there we went to DisneyWorld (another 9 hours in the car - but it wasn't bad, the kids were great!).

These photos are from Oak Mountain State Park - we went on a very fun hike here to these falls. We didn't take any other photos of our time in AL, unfortunately. The area is much more hilly, rocky and full of trees than we expected. It's beautiful really.

Comfortably cool in January too - summer? That will be a different story I'm sure. It took us awhile after we got back to decide, but we finally accepted the job offer and now we are working on getting ready to move to Alabama!

I'm stressed and in shock - lots to do to make it happen, and I have no words how hard it will be to leave our home, friends and family in Connecticut - but with trust in the Lord and in His knowledge of the big picture we'll make it and all will be well.

I probably won't post anything else for awhile (sorry Mom). When the work is done though I should have some good photos and stories :) We'll see....
