Garrett's school had a Revolutionary War Day as part of their study of the war. Everyone dressed up, they had activities, made things, and tried to see what it might be like to have been part of it all.
They practiced writting with quills and this is what he wrote on his parchement diary for the day; "May 27, 1770, Garrett, Today was my first day in the army. It hasent been much fun. It's blazing hot and we don't evean have air conditioning (hasent been Invented)"
