My parents invited us to spend a week with them on Edisto Island in SC - we had never been there before and were really looking forward to it. We weren't disapointed! We spent time on the beach, at the pool, in Charleston, and basically just relaxed. Fun fun - Thanks Mom and Dad!
This is the view from our balcony. The small head on the right is Gregg, if you look closely, you can see the top of Rebecca's head to the right and above him - she is getting ready to jump!
Pretty house in Charleston from the car - this one is famous too - but I don't know which it is. Gregg, Kat and I went on this day trip, but we started late, didn't know the city and so went to Fort Sumpter first - ferry was sold out. We spent some time in the museum and then got lucky and found out that some spots had opened up on the next ferry. We took them and then thought we'd walk through the pretty parts of Charleston we wanted to see until the ferry ride. Unfortunately, the ferry leaves from a point much farther North than I thought and it would have taken us too long to walk down to the Battery, cobblestone streets, and pretty houses so we only got to see some of the shopping areas. All was not lost however, because we got lunch at Five Guys :) Kat loves cheeseburgers and she doesn't know there's one in Enfield so it was cool and new to her. Then we found a cupcake store and Kat and I also got a cupcake each.
Kat looking at her photos - I'll have to steal some, her camera hasn't been dropped. Notice her Five Guys drink :)
Shopping area of Charleston - buildings were still really pretty - it was just crowded and hot and not quaint like the prettier part we drove through later.
We all worked on this puzzle when we were waiting to do other things. It was fun! I thought we'd never finish before we had to leave, but we did.
You do so much traveling with your family...I love it! And I love the new hair...perfect for summer, bonnie-lee!
ReplyDeleteFun! Fun! Fun! It looks like it was a nice, relaxing vacation for the Tautkus Gang! I'm jealous of the trip to Ft. Sumpter!
ReplyDeleteThat was our last stomping grounds in the military. We spent almost 3 years there. Charleston has a great market and chicken wings place. It is beautiful there this time of year.
